How I Handle All My Crazy

It’s no secret that I have many irons in the fire. It’s a temperature I’ve become accustomed to, and I like it.

In fact, I’m not sure what to do when I’m not working on multiple projects. But to juggle all of these projects, I have to adhere to some rules.

  1. Never ignore my husband to work on projects. Family will always be my priority, and if I have to neglect my husband to finish up projects, then it’s just not worth it. If he happens to be watching the Sharks game, however, it’s better for both of us that I use that as an opportunity to gets things done.
  2. Don’t take on TOO many things. I love doing showers and parties, but if they become overwhelming, I call in reinforcements. Makes it that much more fun.
  3. Do something for myself. Even if I have a pile of things I need to do for clients, I can always take a break and do some sewing I’ve been wanting to do, or write a blog post or two.
  4. Vocalize when enough is enough. Only I know when I’m being spread too thin. It’s my job to vocalize it if people can help me, or to take a day off and head to the movies so that I’ll be refreshed the next day.
  5. Use tools that help me. 3 cheers for google! Gmail, Google Docs, Google Calendar, Google Analytics, and Google Notebook keep me in line. I need all my lists and projects to be digital so I can get to them from one of the many computers I use.
  6. Don’t rush a job, just to get it off the list, enjoy the process. ‘Nuff said.
  7. Getting tips from others to ever improve my flow of work. Natalie Jost just posted a great way to use Gmail that I have tested this week and love. Always share your tips!

LOGO DESIGN: That’s What She Said

My kickball team’s name is “That’s What She Said.” It only seemed fitting that we have our own custom logo, what with a few graphic designers on board. I traced some clip-art of a woman, and made her wink. Then I added a typeface for the team name, all in Illustrator. If you want to download a version of this logo for your own kickball team, you can do so here. :)

Recent Logos: Update in the Graphic Design side of things

Recently I had the opportunity to design logos for two real estate services comapnies. Here’s how they turned out:

Gold Equity Offices

real agent services logo

I always seem to be drawn to real estate. I’ve worked on home decorating shows, at a boutique real estate firm, at a marketing firm specializing in new home builders, and I even wanted to get my real estate license about a year ago. As much as I’m interested in it, it also seems to be drawn to me!

These were fun projects, and I hope they help these companies find success!
