GeorgieGirlNYC Blog Makeover

georgie

I just finished a Tumblr blog theme for the adorable, and almost-too-thin-to-be-my-friend, Georgina. She lives in New York and is using her blog to showcase fashion trends from the Big Apple! Georgina and I had a connection from the start, and have had fun getting to know each other long-distance.

Check out her {pimped-out} blog at www.georgiegirlNYC.com.

Sidenote: This is the first time I’ve worked with Tumblr. It has far less capabilities than WordPress, but is comparable to Blogspot for ease of use for the blogger and the non-web designer. It also allows you to easily connect with other bloggers, as a stream recent blog posts is always updated through the admin. Do you have tips about Tumblr that I don’t know about?

In My Queue: LOTS of Web Work!

In case you thought I was busy making redecorating videos in every room in my little home, you are wrong. I am shackled to the computer working on web projects. Lucky for me, each and every one of these projects is creative and innovative. Here’s what I’ve got in the queue, hoping to finish up in the next week or so:

Mueller Austin Journal on www.ohbrooke.com

Mueller Austin is a progressive and exciting master-planned new home community in Austin Texas. The homes are a mix of different homebuilders and home styles. What better way for neighboring cities and potential residents to keep up on the news at Mueller than a blog? The Mueller Journal just launched today, designed and developed by yours truly at my nine-to-fiver. I’m loving how this turned out both aesthetically, and for the communication this opens up between the development and those that are interested!

Blog Design Giveaway WINNER

The winner for the blog design giveaway, chosen by a random integer generator, is Belinda at Renovate + Decorate. She will receive a custom and unique header design and background image. Congratulations to Belinda!

If you would still like to have me design your blog, I am available for hire. I will be posting my price sheet later this week, but I am charging $60 for a custom header and background. Be sure to email me: ohbrooke{at}gmail.com, if you are interested. PLUS A $5 DOLLAR DISCOUNT if you display my ad on your blog.

I’ll be sure to post Belinda’s new designs when they are complete!

One-Year Anniversary

one year anniversary

This week marks the one-year anniversary for the Idea Attic. And what a year it has been. Personally, I have moved into a new condo, re-ignited my love for sewing and decorating, taken on some fun and new clients (dentist website and tattoo shop website currently in que), met some new people, traveled to Florida, Vegas, and Arizona, started playing tennis and kickball, and having a lot of fun with my husband. We really had a great year and are starting to make goals for 2009.

Here were the most popular posts for the Idea Attic in 2008:

When To Go Neutral – Shannon’s new house and inspiration board

Meet Shelley’s Dining Room – Shelley’s new pumpkin dining room inspiration board (after pictures coming soon…)

Spring Kitchens – Great colorful kitchens and how to mimic them

Teaching an Old Dresser New Tricks – The repurposing of a vintage dresser

Weekend Office Makeover – The reveal of my “croffice” (craft room + office)

THANK YOU for reading and keep the comments coming! I am a firm believer in change, and I would love any suggestions as to what you’d like to see on the Idea Attic.

New Blogspot Template

In an effort to share more of the graphic design side of projects I have been working on, I am going to be showing more of my freelance and marketing work.

Last night I updated my friend Shannon’s blog. The objectives: hip, fun, chic, greens, blacks, and trendy. Shannon loves fashion, interior design, and it would definitely be hard to capture her in one word. I do my best, however, to capture her in a template!
