The Baby Room Reveal
He may not have a name yet, and he may not actually be spending any time in this room for months, but, well, it’s all ready!
So much of this room was a collaboration of friends and family, and over 90% of it is used or handmade. I don’t know if there has ever been a smaller bedroom recorded to date, but this would give it a run for its money.

you did a great job! Bravo!
Your nursery turned out so cute! I love that you were able to repurpose a lot of items. Still in love with your crib bedding and that wire diaper basket!
Are you serious? That is about the cutest nursery ever! Great job!
You’re all ready! It looks way cute!
I love the yellows and the greys, so cute that it is kind of an animal/safari theme without being in your face.
This also illustrates why I could never be an interior designer because I would never see that elephant head in Ross and think “Nursery!” and yet it is completely adorable in this room.
oh my gosh! i LOVE it! it’s perfect! i hope you don’t mind if i steal a few ideas as we are planning on a grey & yellow nursery, as well :)
Oh my word I love it! Especially the crib bumper and quilt.
This is a very beautiful nursery. My favorites are the rooms that don’t have a “theme”. I love these vintage and eclectic styled rooms. Lovely!
SO cute! I love the bedding! I also love that the colors are not very traditional-baby-like. Love the yellow!
Wow! You all wake up early!
Thank you so much for the comments… we had a lot of fun putting it together, and I hope the colors make this little baby think, “I’m just gonna keeeeep sleeping…”
Brooke it turned out SO adorable!
Such a unique room ~ I love it!
The bedding is my absolute FAVORITE. So creative and beautiful :)
LOVE IT!!! It is so cute, and I just love the bed!!! I had that same bed as a baby and I would love to find one like it for my future children!!! LOVE IT!! Did I say that already??!!
LOVE how it turned out!!! You are all ready!!! Now what to do with the rest of your maternity time? :-)
Brooke, your baby’s nursery is so amazing. I love that it looks like it was put together from a million sources – and that that actually was the case. Not that a complete Pottery Barn Kids nursery wouldn’t be beautiful and all, but there is just something about knowing the stories for everything, and who made or took part in each and every piece. Smallness is relative. You’ve done so much with it and made it so special. I hope you post a picture of him someday standing up in that crib with a big ole’ smile on his sweet face so that we can see him enjoying his custom digs :)
hugs to you,
susan
It is such a lovely, simple color scheme- just beautiful!
It looks amazing Brooke. I bet you are so happy it’s done. How rewardin! You are so creative and I love all that you did with it. Love all the handmade stuff, the most. LOVE the “H” pillow in the crib and your bedding. Love the elephant and the rug. SO CUTE! Baby Boy is going to love all the fun things to look at!
I love it Brooke!
I love this. All of this. Plus, the song on the video brought tears to my eyes!! So loving!! What is that song?
You’ve set the bar high, my friend. It looks gorgeous! Where did you learn to do all this? I know you pretty well by now, but your talents never cease to amaze me. Baby hall is so lucky!
Love it! It looks so nice all put together….but if I had to pick a favorite it would have to be the bedding and the quilt.
@Gretchen – YES, the fabric would look adorable with an off-white crib. I had a hard time finding complimentary fabrics, but then found that it stood on its own perfectly. Good luck!
@Amelia – That song is from The Last Kiss soundtrack – Paperweight by Joshua Radin and Schuyler Fisk
Hands down the cutest baby room I’ve ever seen! :-)
Looks really great and very put-together!
The nursery is absolutely adorable! I love that it’s so personal and when the baby is bigger you can point to things and say “Grandma made this for you” or “Mommy made that”.
I have spent so much time in my son’s “nursery” (can you call it that when he is turning 3 next week) and I have to say that I am so glad I didn’t chose typical baby colors and fabrics. I think you will be so happy you kept everything clean lined and sophisticated as it won’t be outgrown in the first year. He’s so lucky to have a warm feathered nest to come home to!
WOW!!!! WHAT A LUCKY BABY!!! Brooke, I love that elephant 48?!!! It looks like something you would of picked up at the Moma gift store for $800!
in a world of “lmao” & “ttyl”, your kid is going to have bad-ass grammatical skills :) THANK YOU for teaching your child at a young age about the differences between bare/bear, hare/hair, etc… fabulous!
the whole room is amazing… the antique pieces are perfect… that hamper & liner, yellow highchair… *sigh*
thanks for sharing!
I’ve been waiting to see all the proJects come together! It’s really the sweetest. What a lucky boy…
WOW. very, very nice! love that crib color!
I love love your baby’s room. You’ve inspired me to be more creative.
I love the unique colors, not typical blues or pinks! Not all of the photos downloaded for me, but I’ll come back and try again later. What I see I love so of course I’m curious about the rest.
what a great job. I love the colors and how you made and refurbished the various items. perfection. what a lucky baby.
I just discovered your blog today. Super cute nursery! You inspired me to go back and update my nursery post. We too did ours either from hand me downs or handmade items. Loved your posted on blogging do’s and don’ts. Thanks again.
I’m late to the party, but congrats on baby and this room is gorg! i luv the subtlety (sp?) and sweetness of it all. GORG I tell ya.
I found your blog from someone’s comment on younghouselove.com and your blog “Do’s and Don’ts” made me decide to post!
Love your baby room!! It’s inspirational as I decide what to do for our own babies room. I love your color choices and the combination of old and new items. So fresh!
Absolutely love this baby’s room, and especially how you mixed old and new. It’s beautiful and you and your mom did a great job. :)
The only concern I had and I know you’ve addressed it, is that the diaper basket on the wall is old and still has old chipped paint on it. I worried that it could be a lead based paint and chips could get on the diapers.
I love this baby room, the colors, the homemade design… everything. Any ideas how can i do something like this for a shared brother and sister’s room?
@Jennifer – thank you for your comment! I still love this room. I think it’s a good gender-neutral too. The grey, white, and natural wood color make it a good fit for a shared brother/sister. Maybe focus on things they both like – if they like Curious George, find an old copy and display it on a shelf with other vintage toys. Find toy storage that is neutral in color or a fun pop of color that is gender neutral. Good luck!
