Digital Scrapbooking
You’d think that this is something that I’m totally into… but I really don’t have the patience. We take pictures all year long, and I want to document them somehow without printing out a bunch of pictures or keeping them holed up on my hard drive. My latest tradition has been to print a quick digital scrapbook of the years’ pictures after each Christmas. It has very few words, just picture after picture of the things we did during the year. It only takes until December before I forget that we went to Hawaii, went camping, saw my grandma for the first time in over 10 years, took a little anniversary trip and all the other exciting things that happen as time flies by too fast.
I love having these to flip back through.

that cover image of you two is so perfect!
Love your blog and your ideas.
I’ve been doing the same thing for 3 years now and I love it. Initially I made the first one FOR Brian with a bunch of words and stories… it was the first year we dated… then I gradually got into just doing pictures and page titles like “Cabo” or “Arizona” (as if the beaches and cactuses weren’t obvious enough?? I don’t know!). But, agreed- this is the best way to do it!
I love this. I actually started doing this the year my husband and I got married. It started a gift for him, and he loved it so much that I have kept doing it. It takes me forever, though, trying to decide which photos to use. I think they are fantastic keepsakes, and whenever our guests see the books, they just love them. It really is a great idea!
Great idea.
I feel like I was born without the photo gene. It’s terrible. I’m such a failure as a mom with photos.
This project, however, seems do-able to me.
Love these as well but have trouble deciding which service to use? Which do you prefer?
@CT – I prefer whoever is having a sale! ;) Actually, both times I’ve used Snapfish and have had pleasant results.
Agreed! I made a photo album for our first year of marriage, and while it did take some time, it’s so worth it! I hate having my pictures waste away in the virtual world. Our anniversary is in August, and I’m a teacher, so it helps that I actually have the time to do it.
do you recommend a site to order from? I have a friend that loves snapfish, but then the last one she ordered didn’t turn out as she’d hoped. I’m having tons of trouble importing my wedding pics into iphoto so that’s out too.
Blurb is an awesome place to make a book!
