Does This Baby Make My Butt Look Big?
NVM, don’t answer that… {10 weeks to go!}

I finally decided on a stroller this weekend. That was about as painless as a good body waxing. I could never find any ONE stroller that did all the things that I wanted it to. And to clarify, I am only GUESSING as to what I’m going to want it to do on account of I HAVE NO IDEA. I needed to pick a stroller first, so I knew what kind of car seat was compatible with the stroller. If I had to guess, I’ve spent at LEAST 10 hours on the internet researching strollers and watching every Baby Gizmo YouTube video available. Getting a root canal is more fun than shopping for strollers {oddly enough, I felt the same way about shopping for a wedding dress}.
My mom and I made an emergency trip to Lullaby Lane in San Bruno to make a decision once and for all. By our guestimation, this store had over 60 different strollers – each with its own features and price range {some strollers on the menu were over $900, but many coming in under $200}. Because of my extensive {exhausting} online research, my mom and I were able to make quick work of narrowing down the contenders, and walked out the door with this beauty:
The Valco Baby Latitude. The features that I love about this stroller {which will probably change when I use it for more than carrying groceries to my second-floor condo} start with the cozy boot that snaps on and keeps the baby warm. An easy compact fold, large wheels, large basket, one-handed recline, oversized zip canopy, rain cover, universal car seat straps and telescoping handles were just icing on the cake.
I’m thrilled with the purchase {Coming in just under $270 out the door} and now I can close that disasterous chapter in my life. My marriage and my friendships thank Valco Baby.

it is good that you researched as much as you did…I did ZERO research and regretted my stoller, even to do this day!! The seat is too heavy and it is ridiculous to put the huge stoller down with baby and everything else in my arms….oh well, live and learn, and next time RESEARCH!!! I love what you chose, and the price point is great!! Have you chosen a baby bag yet?? I did my research on those, and ended up with a Petunia Pickle Bottom that has the plastic like fabric and i LOOOOVEE it…not only is it gorgeous, but it still looks brand new and I have had it for about 2 years now! AND there is a new design that is gray/yellow and white that would match the nursery theme :) I secretly wish I had this bag! I had another coach bag that is now sitting in the closet, way too dirty to even take out ever again! good luck with everything :)
No, the baby doesn’t make your butt look fat. You look excellent for 10 weeks to go!
Nice work…it looks good. I can’t wait to see it in person. And I like your outfit choice today for the pic…nice books, slimming pants…overall, fantastic! :)
@Kelly – that was my WORST fear. Which is why I put TOO much pressure on the decision, but I love what we ended up with!
@Meredith – thank you! I need to take a picture everyday. I’m growing by the second.
@April – Thanks girl! None of the clothes I’m wearing in the photo were maternity. Not even the pants – they are Jolt brand skinny jeans from Macys. Love that.
Holy Moly Brooke! Your butt looks fabulous! LOL! Darling stroller, love it!
you sure that’s not a beer gut, cuz i’ve got an uncle or two that has one juuuust like it… hahaha juuust kidding! that’s exciting!
You look awesome! I just found out Im pregnant and I hope I look half as good as you do! When I start my stroller search, I will have to test drive this bad boy. What car seat did you end up with for it?
@Ashley – CONGRATS! The stroller will take a Graco and Britex. Many of the strollers you need to buy attachments for, but this one has the straps right on it, so it’s super easy. I finally found the stroller that will do EVERYTHING! But it was *quite* a search. Congrats again, can’t wait to hear your experiences.
Your butt looks way better than my non-preggo butt!
I’m sorry, but I’m swooning over your choice of such a pretty nail polish!
That stroller is awesome. I’d never imagine that it could fold up so compactly. Great choice!
For me, strollers and baby bags were the easy research stuff (though truly time consuming because I am very selective). When my eldest was old enough to go to school… Then is when it got really serious/tough.
If you are looking into getting a Petunia Pickle Bottom bag, it’s an overall good choice. I have a few Petunia bags and overall I do love them (especially the look of them). However, I would NOT recommend the touring tote. It LOOKS like it holds a lot, but once you get stuff into it and try to zip it up, you realize that you have, indeed, been deceived. Of course, that’s just my opinion. I’d suggest a shoulder bag, not a boxy backpack, and for smaller trips out just a travel bag, but I don’t even think they make those anymore. They are pricey bags (though they are having a big sale right now in honor of those in Haiti (http://www.petuniaoutlet.com/), and they do have to be dry cleaned (with the exception of the small changing pads).
I am of the opinion now that it is best just to get a regular purse that you really love that is big enough to accommodate the things you need, and one of those awesome baby bag back packs if you and your husband are the hiking/touring kind.
Anyway. This comment got terribly long. I’m sorry!
Strollers were one of the few items I did no research on (I didn’t buy one until he was about a year old, so at that point I was researched out). And my stroller sucks. But yours has telescoping handles and an oversize canopy, which are my top two complaints, so I think you’ll love yours! Nice choice :) And I’ll send you good thoughts during this home stretch… you’re almost there!
I cant believe you only have 10 weeks! You seriously look amazing! I hope I look half that good when I’m at that point! I’m glad you found a stroller and are over all of the anxiety. I’m sure you will love it and it will have been worth all of the trouble.
No. But those boots make you look absolutely, international-super-spy fabulous.
But, OMG, who did the location scouting for this photo shoot?! I had to do a double-take. And then I almost got tossed out of the library (don’t ask, you’ll be a mother soon enough and all will become clear) when I busted out laughing.
Wow.
You look fantastic Brooke!
I loved reading your stroller hunt, that is the object of my demise right now.
You look amazing Brooke! Love the stroller too. I can’t believe all the features. This baby boy will be a happy camper in there! Love ya
My stroller search was also pretty extensive. I wanted to splurge on a good diaper bag and stroller and took MONTHS deciding and finally settled on The Bumbleride Flyer (in Queen B. Such cute fabric!) and LOVE it!
You look great and no, your butt looks totally ok.
Shit no but those tits make a player wanna bite honey
