Cloth Napkins
It might be time to make the switch to cloth napkins. I don’t use an inordinate amount of paper towels per se, but it would be so much cheaper/festive/better for the environment to be using cloth napkins. Don’t you agree?
It could be another way to decorate for the holidays.
While I intend on making my own, here are some cute ones available on etsy {Click image to see artist’s shop}:
And during my etsy search, I came accross this {no comment}:

love the first cloth napkins, but …umm, i’m a bit speechless on the last item you linked to. :) designer pads – who knew?
I’ll comment on it… “This” is disgusting. Washable. Yuck. Enough said. Who the heck uses that??
Thanks girls… someone needed to say it. I was a big meanie with my pumpkin stencils last week, I thought I’d spare everyone. They look very well made and uh, beautiful, but I can’t help but get the shivers when I see it.
Designer pads? NO THANKS! Cloth napkins, YES! I just made some with a coordinated pack of fat quarters. They’re fun and it gives me a chance to use some of those beautiful fabrics I love.
I will also comment on THIS…
EEEEW!!!! I understand why the person is making them (we’re all trying to be a little greener, right???), but, still… And why so colorful??? Why not just plain ole white or ecru??? Flowers are NOT going to pretty what those are meant to dispose of.
But then, I’m not a pad sort of gal either… Cloth diapers, though, I’m into those. But they do take dedication.
Okay. I’ll stop now. {shudders}
hahaha disgusting!
But as far as the cloth napkins go, I think you should go for it! I use them all the time and you just pop them in the washer, let them hang dry, and they’re good to go. Plus, you can find them anywhere, for such great prices; Bed Bath and Beyond, Target, even yard sales!
wow I sound like an infomercial :)
Oh, my! I’m almost speechless with that last picture. Why would you want to use pretty fabric for something that’s just going to get gross? It’s a bit much. I’ll stick with tampons myself.
Next we’re going to see “designer” pads advertised on TV. Sign of the times? I’m not ready for that.
We switched to cloth napkins last year and it DOES feel good, although, with a family of 5 I figure we’re probably using as much energy and resources in washing them all as we did with paper towels. I try not to think about it. :)
Mostly I like that the big basket of them is always on the table and ready to mop up little spills, and they’re soft for the twins’ baby faces.
Ok-I seriously know of several ppl that use the last image. It seriously disgusts me! I had never heard of them before. Blech!
uhm… wrong. That is the only word i can think of for that last image.
We use a lot of cloth napkins too and they are so fun!
Oh my, you have to be kidding me with that last picture! I just can’t wrap my mind around it. Maybe whoever came up with that bright idea, also came up with the “have a happy period” slogan.
Makes. Me want. To punch someone.
