{ohbaby} Shower
Because she lives in Chicago, we haven’t actually “met”, but Jessica and I have talked on the phone and emailed frequently. She is the mastermind behind many of my favorite pieces of jewelry, JessLC.com, and we all love her Make Under My Life blog.
Thank you Jess for the ohbaby shower!
Many of you have left comments that have been encouraging, thoughtful, and outright funny. I have loved every one of them, and am delighted as I get these little gems in my email throughout the day.
Here is what I received at the ohbaby shower:

From Jess, an adorable letterpress print {from See Saw Designs} that matches the nursery perfectly. I love this!

Whitney, maker of all things paper-crafts and colored bakers twine, sent me this note of “practical advice” {it’s perfect!}:

The eloquent and beautiful Julieta sent over this cute note… probably the first time I realized that I’ll be having a BOY! {a real teach-him-how-to-pee-standing-up BOY!} Oh, and if you haven’t read how her blog got its name, read here, and you’ll love her as much as I do!

And Natalie, whose talent never ceases to amaze me, made a print with her advice. And she should know… she has three girls, two of which are TWINS!

What great advice to keep in mind for the future! You have some funny and creative friends.
P.S. I framed the print you sent me and put it on my desk in the study. Will be posting pics soon; thanks again! :)
I was reading one of your baby shower letters, some advice about getting simple non electronic toys for tots. I found just the right site to get them from, and affordable!

Oh! Everything was just perfect!
I absolutely agree with Whitney’s advice – I’m happy to say that the only toys with batteries we’ve got left are flashlights :O) Toys that stir up their imaginations are the very, very best. Here’s another one – costumes stuff, like hats and masks and whatnot. And Sarah’s Silks (or you can get play silks in some good Etsy shops, too) sells awesome big silk scarves that my boys LOVE to use as capes. Of course, any old blanket (or towel, or hankie, or daddy shirt) will serve as a cape when necessity calls.
I also agree with Jules’. But I would like to add that little boys are so, so, so, so, so much fun. I say embrace the messiness that comes along with boys. They know how to have a good time and to really get you laughing. Play in the rain, splash in the puddles, look through all of those pretty flowers in your garden for neat-o bugs and gnome homes :O)
I’m sorry I always write such long comments on your blog!
Hugs, Susan
So glad you enjoyed your baby shower! I just got back from my trip and the first blog I went to was your’s of course to see how the shower went.
Also, THANK YOU so much for making the fall ‘makeover’ on MML. It looks awesome!
Miss Brooke,

[...] I was away Brooke of Oh Brooke had the Oh Baby Shower I “threw her” via the interwebs. I would like to thank everyone [...]
Your friend Whitney’s advice is right on! My son is 11 and has the wildest, best imagination I know and can entertain himself quite well. I did all the stuff Whitney suggests.
Congrats and I hope all goes will with your pregnancy. It is an amazing experience.
