Switch It Up
Has your living room been decorated the same way for over a year? {2 years? 5?!?!}
Switch something up… just one thing, and don’t spend any money on it. Swap about your wall-hangings, put a new pillow on the couch, re-organize your coffee table books, or switch out your lamps.
{Before}

{After}

Nothing was wrong with the “before,” but with the help from a sister hand-me-down mercury-glass lamp, things look just a little different than they normally do, and I love it.

Mercury Glass lamp?? I die! So beautiful!
Hi Brooke!
I’m a relatively new reader of yours. I wanted to ask, regarding today’s post, what happened to the sweet UO bird lamp? I love mercury glass too, and the new lamp is beautiful.
Sarah
@Sarah – Thanks for reading – and your uber-sav UO reference. That is getting moved into the guest room, until I get a tickle and move everything around again. My mom bought that lamp for me and I LOVE it!
Nice change. By the way, is that one of your mom’s pillows? Love the fabric.
I love the bird lamp too, and I love moving things around. Fall seems a perfect time to do it — new beginnings and fresh starts!
I was so inspired by this post, Brooke! With so many changes that are naturally happening around here at this time of the year, a little intentional, fully willed change seems empowering and appropriate. And I love that you still kept your bird-love vibe going :O) BTW, great table!
@Susan – Thanks! That table is pottery barn – LOVE IT! And I’ve always gotta little birdie vibe… :)
@Terry – Good eye! That is a “mom pillow” with Amy Butler fabric – http://tinyurl.com/n5mpks
beautiful!
I love to switch things up like that too, especially with florals.
