Urban Outfitters Lighting

I have discovered some beautiful, fun, and reasonably priced lamps at Urban Outfitters. I think a fun lamp is a good way to lighten up a stuffy room and add some personality. You can see their selection of lamps here.

Craigslist Treasure of the Week: Eero Ball Chairs

Although it saddens me that these chairs haven’t been maintained like they should – it would be so great to have this interior design history in your home! I love these chairs and they would be so fun in my home office!

The Elusive Sofa

As my friends and family know, I have been deliberating about a sofa. I even ordered one and canceled it the next day, because it didn’t feel right. Well, I finally committed and I’m ecstatic!
Here were my rules:

1. I could buy a cheaper one now, but will inevitably have to replace it in the near future.

2. Since I’m going to have it for a while – it can’t be a trendy style that will become dated quickly.

3. It must be comfortable and a fabric that is easy to maintain.

4. No pillowbacks. (nothing wrong with them, I just wanted something more streamlined this time around.)

5. Neutral color for all color schemes.

For only 5 rules, it took me a long time to settle on the right sofa, but I DID IT!

The Tate Sofa Up Close

The Tate Sofa in Context
I chose the “Tate” Sofa by Bassett Furniture. It’s elegant, timeless and neutral. I can’t wait for it to come! (And I only had to sell 4 things on craigslist to afford it! <<wink>>)

Condo Chronicle: Purchased

My husband and I purchased a condo at a great price and are ready to decorate it and improve it so it will be more comfortable to us and more attractive to a potential buyer down the line. Here are a few pictures of the 3 bed, 2 bath condo.

I will be posting the progression of the condo, tips on painting and decorating, and our decision making.

Louey Large Console Table

Louey Large Console Table

I think these tables are beautiful. They are printed canvas table cloths and can be purchased with or without the under table. I think the best application for this is to use it in a place that there wouldn’t normally be a fancy table: A printer stand in your office, or a nightstand by your bed.  With a price tag of over $800, I’m going to have to figure out how to make this myself! I’ll be sure to report back!

Craigslist Treasure of the Week

As written in The Million-Dollar Idea in Everyone by Michael Collins, I am a “Self-proclaimed Craigslist Junkie.” I think you can find some absolute junk on Craigslist, but you can also find some real treasures. I always find it important to put things in your house that nobody else has — and craigslist is a great portal for finding treasures out of the cookie-cutter mold.

This week’s treasure is “Swanky Retro Vintage Rat Pack Bar Cart” for $80. I think this is great because it’s masculine meets feminine. The wooden legs make it solid and give it presence, while the glass and thin metal lines make it fluid.

Applications for this beautiful cart? Living Room side table, nightstand, drinks…
